¿Cuál es su definición de la unidad dentro de una organización?
La unidad hace que las personas estén juntas por mutuo acuerdo. Es la cualidad de trabajar juntos en armonía.
¿De qué tres maneras inspiras la unidad entre aquellos que sirven junto a ti?
En primer lugar, involucramos a Jesús en nuestro trabajo diario y en nuestra vida. Para lograr tener unidad, tratamos de mejorar la vida espiritual de los empleados. Una forma de hacer esto es mediante el dedicar unos 15 a 30 minutos en compartir un tiempo devocional.
La segunda forma es mostrarle a nuestro personal el panorama general de este viaje. Cada uno de los ministerios nacionales necesita tener una estrategia que nos ayude a trabajar juntos para lograr el objetivo general. Esto nos orienta a todos respecto de nuestra visión, misión y valores fundamentales.
En tercer lugar, ayuda mucho el incrementar la colaboración con otros. Sin colaboración, podemos sentimos muy solos en nuestro trabajo. Los primeros socios que colaboran con la CC de Camboya son los donantes. Tenemos muchas personas que nos apoyan en los Estados Unidos y también a nivel local. El segundo socio con el que colaboramos es el gobierno. En Camboya, tenemos 24 prisiones, además de otros cuatro centros penitenciarios. Gracias a la buena colaboración que tenemos con la Dirección General de Prisiones, es más fácil para nosotros como CC de Camboya el poder llevar adelante nuestro ministerio en la prisión. Finalmente, el tercer socio con el que colaboramos es la iglesia internacional.
La iglesia en la comunidad, el pueblo, y en el distrito, es muy poderosa. Actualmente, contamos con cerca de 500 niños hijos de reclusos en nuestro programa. La iglesia local busca a los niños y a sus familias, monitorea su responder y nos reporta sobre ellos. Ellos nos ayudan a llegar a estos niños con el amor de Cristo.
¿Qué hace usted cuando la unidad se ve amenazada?
Cuando la unidad se ve amenazada, se hace necesaria la restauración espiritual y física. Debemos entonces reestructurar la estrategia, el sistema y el personal. En la CC de Camboya, estamos en una época de cambio. Para sanar la unidad que se ha quebrantado, reestructuramos. Después, restauramos la capacidad del personal, el compromiso y la inversión; rediseñamos la estrategia y el modelo; y aumentamos la colaboración.
¿Qué consejo les darías a los líderes del ministerio para inspirar mejor la unidad?
En primer lugar, es importante ser un siervo líder. No hemos sido llamados a ser servidos, sino que hemos sido llamados a servir al recluso, a los niños, a las familias y a la comunidad.
En segundo lugar, es importante tener una visión. Cada ministerio nacional tiene una visión y misión, un camino por el que debe ir la organización, pero la visión del líder debe ir mucho más. Con una gran visión, él o ella puede llevar a otros a tener visión.
Y en tercer lugar, como líder, hay que explorar el cambio. Para ser eficaces, no podemos esperar que podremos hacer siempre lo mismo. El cambio es muy importante porque queremos crecer, trae nueva vida y nuevas oportunidades.
